Report Highlights

Workday, Inc., a leader in enterprise cloud applications for finance and human resources, recently published its 2015 Global Impact Report. The report details Workday's sustainable business practices and the efforts the company is taking to make a positive difference for its customers, employees, the communities in which it operates, and the environment.

In its third report to date, Workday aims to provide a transparent view into its efforts in each of these areas, and by doing so, hopes to create a dialogue between Workday and its stakeholders that sparks continued innovation and improvement. The report covers the reporting period for fiscal years 2014 and 2015 (Feb. 2013 – Jan. 2015) and was developed using the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G4 guidelines. Past reports can be viewed here.

Highlights of Workday's 2015 Global Impact Report include:

  • Workday's environmental focus is on reducing its carbon footprint and investing in renewable energy programs. Workday operate as a 100% Green Power Purchaser, offsetting all non-renewable energy usage in the company’s offices and data centers. Workday's largest offices also leverage employee-run green teams that are responsible for implementing office sustainability initiatives.
  • The health of the Workday culture is as important today as it was when the company was founded. Treating employees with fairness and respect, offering competitive pay and benefits, and making fun a priority is only part of what has proudly landed Workday on multiple “Best Places to Work” lists. Workday also offers career-growth programs, tools, and resources, along with a portfolio of learning and networking experiences to employees around the world. This special focus on employee development as well as its core values has been critical in maintaining Workday’s culture as the company has more than doubled its number of employees from the end of calendar year 2012 through the end of fiscal year 2015.
  • The Workday Foundation’s philanthropic programs continue to evolve and provide support for communities across the globe. In fiscal 2015, Workday employees logged nearly 10,000 volunteer hours and the company matched $421,000 of employee donations to organizations that its employees support. In the future, Workday will place more attention on its strategic focus area, workforce development, which includes providing services such as job readiness training, internships, and mentorships.
  • For a cloud-based enterprise software company, product responsibility means a tireless pursuit of customer satisfaction. Workday makes it a priority to commit to this standard, achieving a 98% customer satisfaction rating this year and 97% for the previous three years.
